In this session participants will learn how to use coaching as a strategic lever in addressing key organisational issues. Using the example of Accelerating Difference within GSK, the ICF 2016 Global Prism Award winners, participants will learn how to utilise individual and group coaching to address a key strategic business issue. Participants will gain insight into successfully gaining top level buy in, how to present the business case, understanding the key design success factors and how to deploy a mixed model of internal and external coaches for best results. Evaluation methods, as well as hard evidence of impact will be shared, along with a candid reflection on watch points for success – for both the organisation and for coaches. Participants will be able to explore how this effective and ground-breaking methodology, can be applied to address many business and organisational dilemmas such as how to significantly increase collaboration amongst disparate groups, and how to speed up integration and development for different populations and how to increase engagement and productivity. Participants will take away how to deploy coaching to address strategic issues and how to get to do great work as a coach in client organisations.


Dr Sally Bonneywell founded and led the Coaching Centre of Excellence in GSK from 2010 until October 2017, where she built global coaching capability through internal and external executive coaches and trained over 1,200 Job Plus Coaches. Sally is a member of the Coaching Sponsors Forum which focuses on how to bring about systemic change in the governance and professionalism of the Coaching industry. She holds a Doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring and an MBA. She now runs her own business, Bonneywell Development Ltd, focusing on making a difference through coaching, organisational consulting and supervision.

Sue Gammons is Coaching Director within GSK where she coaches executives globally and is the Programme Leader of Accelerating Difference. She previously led the PULSE Volunteer Partnership, the award-winning initiative in GSK in which employees use their professional skills as they work with a non-profit organisation to address healthcare needs across the world. Sue uses her extensive psychotherapeutic and business experience to deliver highly effective coaching to clients on a global basis. In 2016 GSK were awarded the the ICF Global Prism Award for excellence in coaching.
