EMCC EMCC International WorkGroup has been researching what is occurring in Europe around regulation of coaching and mentoring practices, and reflecting upon the question of regulation in our profession. This workshop aims to share our current thinking and to provide a forum for exchange of views with coaches, mentors and supervisors in EMCC and other guests.

The session will be highly participative and aims to generate dynamic discussions around the issues and challenges of regulation.

Bio

Mary Devine has been an executive coach and trainer in human resource development since 1996, partnering with international organisations in both the private and public sectors. She designs and delivers development programs to build leadership capacity, support organisational transformation initiatives and enhance collaborative work practices. She also works one-to-one with organisational leaders to support them in achieving their goals and furthering their development and thinking. Mary’s client base is drawn from many industrial sectors, including Telecoms, Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Automotive, Recruitment, Railways and Petrochemicals. She also works extensively with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Court of Auditors, European School of Administration, EU Agencies and Ministries in Luxembourg. She has been a lecturer in the University of Luxembourg’s Master in Mediation program since 2007. She is currently runs her own company, LeadScape, and is Managing Partner at H2P Luxembourg.

Mary has been a member of the EMCC Luxembourg Board since 2015, and has led the EMCC International Regulation WorkGroup since March 2017. She holds the European Individual Accreditation (EIA) at Senior Practitioner level.

David Sleightholm is a highly experienced and qualified coach, working particularly with Executives for the last 15 years
Prior to that, he had over 20 years senior management experience, 12 at Deputy Chief Officer level, which included responsibility for Operations and also Finance, ICT, Facilities, Legal Services and HR. He lead and managed transformational organisational change. He was involved with extensive policy advice to government and also staff and union communication and negotiation. He specialises in working in companies who are on a journey from the public sector, and whose managers are themselves at various stages of their own personal journey. David gets enormous pleasure out of helping the individual reflect, take stock, deepen their awareness of their situation and its context, identify new possibilities, establish goals and make progress toward them. Often this may include learning new skills and contemplating new ways of seeing the work environment. He is respectful of the values and beliefs of the individual he works with. His focus is always on the mission of the organisation and how the individual can make the best contribution to it.

David previously held the role of International Vice President Quality from 2015-2017, with responsibility for Ethics, Regulation, Competences, CPD, Diversity and Supervision. Prior to that, his portfolio included accreditation. He is currently an EMCC UK Governor. He is professionally, interested in the development of coaching and mentoring. He holds the European Individual Accreditation (EIA) at Master Practitioner level and also the European Supervision Individual Award (ESIA). He teaches on EQA and ESQA accredited programmes.

Dr Michel Moral spent most of his career in an international environment as a manager and executive. At that time his activities were covering Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, i.e. 124 countries. This helped him to become an intercultural specialist. In 2003 he created a coaching and supervision practice and he coaches executives, executive teams and organisations. He also trains coaches on team coaching in several French Universities, supervises coaches and trains supervisors. He also participates in a Post Master Collective Intelligence curriculum at the French University of Cergy-Pontoise.

Michel is EMCC International ESIA (European Supervision Individual Accreditation) WorkGroup leader and participates in many activities related to supervision and research. He holds a Master degree in Science & Technology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. He has published ten books related to management, coaching and supervision.
